Minnesota has been named one of the top states in the country for jobs, according to a new report from WalletHub.
ST. PAUL, MN β Minnesota has been named one of the top states in the country for jobs, according to a new report from WalletHub.
Gov. Tim Walz announced Wednesday that Minnesota ranked third overall in the 2025 βBest States for Jobsβ report, which analyzed all 50 states based on indicators such as job opportunities, employment growth, and average starting salaries.
Minnesota also placed in the top 10 nationally for its job market, economic environment, and median annual income. The report ranked the state fifth overall for working parents.

βAmid national economic security, Minnesota is among the best states in the nation for job seekers looking for good benefits, a diverse economy, and a decent wage,β Walz said in a statement. βWeβre seeing the results of years of collaboration between state government, businesses, and the hard-working Minnesotans who make up our economy.β
According to WalletHub, Minnesotaβs median household income β adjusted for cost of living β is about $86,000, one of the highest in the country. The state also ranks among the top 10 for private health insurance coverage and access to employer-based retirement plans.

Minnesotaβs unemployment rate stands at 3.6 percent, among the lowest in the nation.
The ranking adds to a growing list of national recognitions for Minnesotaβs economy and quality of life.
