MTS Minnesota Connections Academy Students Give Back to Community
Winter Warm Up event at school includes movie, fun contests, hot chocolate bar, donations to Face To Face and more.
MTS Minnesota Connections Academy's Student Council hosted a fabulously fun Winter Warm Up event at the school's St. Paul headquarters. With nearly 75 students, family members and staff present, the evening event included contests for craziest pajama's and ugliest holiday sweater, a movie, hot chocolate bar, snacks and more. An important part of the night was collecting items for Face to Face, a St. Paul non-profit organization dedicated to the needs of youth ages 11–24. What began as a coat drive extended to include personal care and food items.
"Our school community gave SO generously," said Emily Johnston, Minnesota Connections Academy teacher and Student Council Advisor. "It has been quite amazing and rewarding to be a part of something like this. Not only was it a great evening, but the group came together and really helped make a difference in the lives of other young people."
