Knock Out: Pedestrian Hit Unconscious After Semi-Trailer’s Tires Fall Off

A pedestrian was injured in Brainerd after a semi-trailer's tires fell off and one of them began rolling down a hill.

The Minnesota State Patrol is warning commercial vehicle drivers about unsafe equipment after an incident involving a semi last month. A pedestrian was injured in Brainerd when a semi-trailer’s rear tires fell off while making a turn on Highway 2.

One tire rolled down a hill and struck a pedestrian in the head and back. Another tire struck the front of an unoccupied vehicle. The pedestrian lost consciousness and was transported to a local hospital, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The truck driver was cited for unsafe equipment.
