Peggy Flanagan's Abortion-Based March Madness Bracket Raises Eyebrows
Every college basketball fan has their own strategy when it comes to picking a winner for their annual March Madness brackets.

ST. PAUL, MN — Every college basketball fan has their own strategy when it comes to picking a winner for their annual March Madness brackets.
But Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan raised eyebrows when she announced that her brackets for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments were based on the most pro-abortion rights states.
“I filled out my brackets based on whether those schools are located in a state that protects access to abortion care,” the Democrat posted on X Thursday. “By this measurement, it’s only fair that Minnesota didn’t make the tournament because they’d have been a favorite for the title.”

Flanagan said in matchups where teams were from states "that guarantee abortion access with little to no restrictions," she went with the higher seed.
"I did the same if there was a matchup of teams from states that have banned abortion," Flanagan specified.

Under these conditions, the top-seeded University of Connecticut Huskies and USC Trojans came out as champions in the men's and women's tournaments, respectively.
Flanagan's political bracket received plenty of pushback, with former Republican Lt. Gov. candidate Matt Birk responding on X: "Pretty evident why Peggy doesn’t get invited to very many parties."
