Police: 90,000 to 100,000 People Marched in St. Paul Saturday

If you didn't notice, a lot of people were marching at the Minnesota State Capitol Saturday. Were you there?

If you didn't notice, a lot of people were marching at the Minnesota State Capitol this weekend. The Saint Paul police estimates that there were between 90,000 and 100,000 people at Saturday's Women's March Minnesota, making it one of the most well-attended women's marches of all that took place last weekend.

Organizers said the march was in solidarity with the national women's march that took place in Washington, D.C., on the same day, which drew well more than the 200,000 people expected Saturday.

The Women's March Minnesota aimed to "stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families," according to the website.

Geoff Dittberner, 29, from Inver Grove Heights, told Patch he wanted to march with his daughter to let President Donald Trump know that "him winning the election doesn't mean his disgusting statements and actions against women are OK."

"They're not, and we should expect more out of our president," Dittberner added.

Gretchen Williams, 58, of Mendota Heights, also marched Saturday. Williams told Patch that in the week leading up to the march, she was "busy trying to knit pussyhats for [friends] to wear."
