10 Deaths, 576 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases In Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Health confirms a tenth person has died and 576 people have been infected with the coronavirus statewide.

MINNESOTA — The Minnesota Department of Health has confirmed 10 people have died and 576 have been infected with the new coronavirus statewide.

On Friday officials reported just four deaths, meaning the statewide death toll more than doubled over the weekend. The state has not released any information on the latest victims, their ages or their locations, but the DOH has confirmed that 92 people are now hospitalized by the virus and 24 of those patients are in the ICU.

While cases continue to grow, almost half the patients have returned home healthy. Of the 576 people confirmed to have caught COVID-19, 260 no longer need to be isolated. A total of 18,822 Minnesotans have now been tested for the virus, meaning just 3 percent of tests are coming back positive.
