Saint Paul Shooting Leaves 1 Dead: City's 10th Homicide Of 2017
Saint Paul police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 10.
SAINT PAUL, MN — Saint Paul police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 10. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Burgess Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9 on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived they located evidence of a shooting but did not find any victims.
A few minutes later, an adult male was brought to Regions Hospital in a private vehicle. Police say he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Regions hospital staff treated him for his injuries, but he was pronounced dead, according to a news release. Homicide investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting and who is responsible.
The department’s Forensic Services Unit is processing evidence collected in relation to this incident. The Ramsey County medical examiner will positively identify the victim and determine an exact cause of death. This is Saint Paul’s 10th homicide of 2017.
