Sen. Tim Kaine's Son Arrested In Saint Paul At Trump Rally

Police said Sen. Tim Kaine's youngest son and five others​ lit fireworks​​ inside the Minnesota State Capitol during a Trump rally.

The youngest son of former vice presidential candidate and current U.S. Senator Tim Kaine was among the counter-protesters arrested Saturday at a pro-Donald Trump rally in Saint Paul.

According to the Saint Paul police booking report, Linwood Michael Kaine, 24, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree riot. He was later released without being charged.

Hundreds of Trump supporters gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol Saturday where they clashed with protesters. Police said Kaine and five others lit fireworks inside the capitol’s rotunda during the rally, WCCO reported.

Similar "March 4 Trump" rallies took place across the country Saturday.

In a statement emailed to the Washington Post, Sen. Tim Kaine and his wife said, "We love that our three children have their own views and concerns about current political issues," and wrote "They fully understand the responsibility to express those concerns peacefully."
