Single Digit Temps, 50 Mph Wind Gusts Forecast For Twin Cities In Coming Days

The next several days will also bring more rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service.

A snowy and windy weekend is forecast to end with single-digit temperatures for the Twin Cities, according to the National Weather Service.

“Things ramp back up again tomorrow w/ a rain/snow system & strong winds,” the NWS Twin Cities X account posted Wednesday. “We continue to monitor the Sat-Sun system closely, w/ snow impacts likely across much of the area."

Thursday is expected to bring a chance of snow in the afternoon, followed by rain, with wind gusts up to 30 mph, according to the weather service forecast for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The service warned of more rain and possible snow overnight and gusts as high as 50 mph.

Friday will be sunny but windy, with gusts predicted at up to 45 mph, according to the weather service. Saturday will bring a chance of snow in the afternoon, which could become heavy overnight and continue into Sunday, which is expected to be another windy day with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Sunday night may bring more snow and gusty winds, but it is also expected to usher in colder temperatures after several days in the 20s, 30s and 40s, according to the weather service. The low Sunday night is forecast to be around 9 degrees, and Monday night’s low is expected to be even colder, at 3 degrees.
