St. Paul Image Makes Time's Top 100 Photos Of 2018

SAINT PAUL, MN — With 2018 winding down, it's time to look back at the year's top news stories. In that vein, TIME’s photo editors have released their unranked list of the 100 best images of the year.
Among those images was this one, of the #mprraccoon, taken by Minnesota Public Radio photojournalist Evan Frost.

The #mprraccoon, also dubbed the "spider-raccoon," captivated the nation on a sunny day back in June as it climbed 23 floors of the UBS building in downtown Saint Paul.

Millions watched its advancements anxiously, fearing the raccoon might lose its grip or slip and fall.
When the sun set, building management told employees the raccoon would probably climb down overnight, but it never did.
