St. Paul Man Sexually Assaulted Person He Met On Dating App: Police
The sexual assault happened after John Henry McCaster offered his date "a drink he thought was blue Gatorade," police said.

ST. PAUL, MN — A 48-year-old St. Paul resident is accused of sexually assaulting a man he met on a dating app.
John Henry McCaster was charged Friday with first and second-degree criminal sexual assault. He is being held in the Hennepin County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
McCaster is suspected of numerous sexual assaults involving different people.

"When we announced a greater collaboration and implementation of our improvement plan on sexual assault investigations in 2019, we envisioned being able to uncover more cases like this where we would connect the dots with other victims across our region," said Ramsey County Attorney John Choi in a news release.
"We appreciate the dedication and collaboration between St. Paul police investigators and our assigned prosecutor to investigate and charge our most complex sexual assault cases."

According to the criminal complaint, McCaster met a man online and invited him to come over to a house in St. Paul.
When the man arrived, he noticed several concerning items including a loaded gun and large knife that McCaster placed on a table in front of him, police said.
Scared, the man accepted an offer of a drink he thought was blue Gatorade and did not taste like alcohol, according to authorities.
The man passed out and woke several hours later naked with his hands tied behind his back, prosecutors said. His cell phone, wallet, keys, and vehicle were all missing.
Although he knew he had likely been sexually assaulted, the man downplayed it initially – blaming himself, according to police.
McCaster was arrested later that night in Ramsey County on possession of a weapon by an ineligible and possession of a controlled and was transported to Hennepin County on an unrelated warrant for possession of a firearm, authorities said.
