Starting Monday, The Robert Street Bridge Will Close Through Late May

ST. PAUL, MN — The Robert Street bridge in St. Paul will close by 5 a.m. Monday and will remain closed through late May, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportaiton.

The bridge will receive repairs and resurfacing during the closure. The bridge will remain closed until late May.

During the closure, motorists will be asked to follow a signed detour that will use Jackson Street, 12th Street, and Cedar Street.

"Please use alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays," transit officials said.

The bridgework is a part of the two-year project to repair and resurface ramps, frontage road, and other areas along Interstate 94 and Interstate 35E near downtown St. Paul.

In July 2021, crews began repairing and resurfacing I-94 between Western Avenue and Mounds Boulevard and I-35E between I-94 North and University Avenue.

In April, crews began doing the same on I-94 between Marion Street and Mounds Boulevard and on I-35E between I-94 and University Avenue.
