Teen Shot, Killed At Saint Paul's Hmong Freedom Festival

Jacky Ger Vue​ had just graduated from high school.

SAINT PAUL, MN — A family is mourning the death of a 19-year-old who was fatally shot Sunday in Saint Paul. Jacky Ger Vue was hit just after 4:30 p.m. as thousands gathered for the 38th Annual Hmong Freedom Festival.

Officers working the event responded to an area near the Como Regional Park pool. Police there found a man — later identified as Vue — who had been shot and called Saint Paul paramedics to the scene.

He was transported to Regions Hospital, where he died. Vue had recently graduated from high school.

On Tuesday, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office charged Nougai Xiong of Saint Paul with two counts of murder in Vue's death. Yang Houa Xiong of La Crosse, Wisconsin was charged with one count of aiding an offender.
