Trump Admin To Rescind $600M In Grants From MN, 3 Other Democratic-Led States

The cuts target Minnesota and three other Democratic-led states through rescinded CDC public health grants.

ST. PAUL, MN — The Trump administration plans to cut roughly $600 million in federal public health funding from four Democratic-led states, including Minnesota, according to reporting from the New York Post and New York Times.

The funding cuts, which are being carried out through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, affect California, Colorado, Illinois, and Minnesota, the Times reported. All four states are led by Democratic governors.

Trump had warned "sanctuary cities or states" that he would halt funding in February, blaming their policies for "fraud and crime and all of the other problems that come," the Post notes.
