Unmarked Patrol Car Following Gov. Dayton Involved In Crash

An unmarked vehicle following Gov. Mark Dayton and another car collided Thursday, blocks from the governor's residence.

SAINT PAUL, MN — An unmarked Minnesota State Patrol vehicle following Gov. Mark Dayton and another car collided at 7 p.m. Thursday. The crash occured at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Dale Street in Saint Paul, police said, less than seven blocks from the governor's residence.

SaintPaul fire medics transported the civilian to Regions Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The trooper went in for a precautionary evaluation.

Minnesota State Patrol spokesperson Tiffani Nielson confirmed with Patch in an email that the unmarked car was following Dayton.
