Watch: PIT Maneuver Ends Highway Chase In Twin Cities
A well-executed PIT maneuver by the Minnesota State Patrol ended a highway chase that began Wednesday.

TWIN CITIES, MN — A well-executed precision immobilization technique, or PIT maneuver, by a Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) trooper ended a chase that began Wednesday evening when Saint Paul police pursued a stolen vehicle on Interstate 35E and Maryland Avenue.
MSP dispatchers spotted the vehicle on traffic cameras and troopers took over the chase when the vehicle left Saint Paul city limits.
The driver avoided stop sticks deployed on Interstate 94, but hit stop sticks on Interstate 694.

That’s when the trooper used a PIT maneuver as the vehicle tried to exit the freeway.
The male driver, a 27-year-old Minneapolis man, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing police in a motor vehicle and an active warrant.

A female passenger was released.
Minneapolis Police K9, New Brighton Public Safety, the Ramsey County Sheriff and Fridley Police Department assisted in the pursuit.
