Wrong-Way Crash On I-35E In St. Paul Kills 1, Injures 6 Others
Four different vehicles were involved in the crash on southbound Interstate 35E at Grand Avenue in St. Paul late Tuesday night.
ST. PAUL, MN — One person was killed and six others were injured Tuesday night when a wrong-way driver crashed on Interstate 35E in St. Paul near Grand Avenue. Four different cars were involved in the crash.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 9:45 p.m., a Ford Fusion entered I-35E at Victoria going the wrong way. The Fusion was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic, authorities said.
The Fusion crashed into a school bus south of Grand Avenue, then hit a Toyota Highlander, according to police. After hitting the Highlander, the Fusion rolled causing it to strike a GMC Terrain, police said.

The Fusion driver — identified as Robin J. Grigsby, 36, of North St. Paul — died at the scene. She was wearing her seat belt, according to investigators.
It is not yet known if alcohol was involved in the crash, police said. Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, according to officials.

There were no children aboard the school bus during the crash. However, three 14-year-old boys were injured as passengers of the Highlander.
