2015 Shakopee Graduates In Need Fund

Shakopee Graduates in Need Fund

This year, the volunteers are reaching out to help 67 students for the 2015 graduating class. Families must fill out an application to be eligible for the Graduates In Need Fund. Eligibility is based on one or more family issues: homeless, death in the immediate family, parents who have lost their jobs, major medical issues or dire financial need. The students who apply for the “Graduates in Need” funding also struggle with minimal food on the weekends. They meet their nutritional needs through breakfast and lunch at school.

In 2014, the “Graduates in Need” volunteers helped raise funds for 35 students to purchase commencement caps, stoles and tassels, and yearbooks. The following businesses and individuals donated in 2014: The Shakopee Eagles Club, Cub Foods-Shakopee, Jeanne Logeias, James and Frances O’Brian, Kay and Michael Alley, Shakopee Senior Citizens, Wes and Donna McFarlane, Gary and Sandy Schuneman, Peter and Stacey Lindahl, John and Rosemarie Webster, Denise and Troy Kluess, Dick and Joyce Blenkush, Curbside Landscape & Irrigation, Carmen Barbone, Bruce & Nancy Theis, Dave Brown Realtors, LLC, Stephen & Marilyn Nutter, Michael Walsh, Sally & William Herzog, Joy & Jimmy Kephart, amara Joy Eddington, K.D. & J.L.
