Five public hearings are scheduled for the March 4 Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and Appeals meeting. Hearings will be held to consider:

  • An interim use permit for concrete crushing and storage of construction materials and equipment for Cretex Industrial Park, LLC. The permit would allow temporary concrete crushing and storage of construction materials and equipment on their property located south of Highway 101 and west of Stagecoach Road.
  • A preliminary plat of Hentges Industrial Park in Cretex Industrial Park 1st Addition and Howe 1st Addition, located east of 70th Street and south and west of Stagecoach Road. Cretex Industrial Park, LLC is proposing redevelopment of 80 acres that would provide five lots, a new Hentges Way public right-of-way and a reconstructed Stagecoach Road with a new roundabout.
  • An amendment to the future land use map in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan within chapter 5A Built Environment. The change affects one unaddressed parcel owned by the City of Shakopee Economic Development Authority located at Vierling Drive West between Lincoln Street and Taylor Street South by re-guiding its planned land use from Mixed Use Corridor to Mixed Residential.
  • Text amendments to city Zoning Code 151.002, 151.007 and 151.108. The amendments make minor corrections and changes to ensure the information is accurate and more understandable for residents and developers.
  • Conditional use permit for vehicle repair at 7300 County Highway 101. Mesenbrink Construction is requesting four tenant bays at the recently constructed building at 7300 County Highway 101. This item is expected to be continued to the April 8 BOAA meeting.

It is anticipated that some or all of the members of the Planning Commission will participate in the March 4, 2021, meeting by video conference rather than by being personally present at the City Hall council chambers, 485 Gorman St., Shakopee.
