Deadly Wrong-Way Crash With Semi Kills Driver, Injures Teen On Highway 169: Reports

The semi driver was not hurt, KSTP reported.

SHAKOPEE, MN — A driver was killed and a teen was injured in a wrong-way crash involving a semitrailer Monday morning on Highway 169 in Shakopee, according to police and media reports.

The Shakopee Police Department posted on social media around 8:30 a.m. that law enforcement was on the scene of the crash on the southbound highway at Fuller Street, where the southbound lanes were closed and northbound traffic was restricted to a single lane.

A northbound Ford Taurus had crossed the median and struck the trailer of the semi before a Ford F-150 pickup hit the car's passenger side, according to KSTP, which reported the sedan's driver died at the scene, while the driver of the pickup, an 18-year-old from Shakopee, was brought to a hospital. The semi driver was not hurt, KSTP reported.

Highway 169 had reopened across all lanes as of 1:30 p.m., according to police.
