City Seeks Scenic Shots from Around Town

Locals are being asked to submit high-resolution photography for the city's new website.

Editor's Note: The following is a City of Shakopee press release.

The City of Shakopee is seeking dynamic, high-quality photography that captures the essence of the community for a new City website, and we are hoping you can help us out.

Earlier this month, the Shakopee City Council formally directed staff to begin developing a new city website, to be rolled out in the fall. As part of the design process, the City is looking for high-resolution photos to figure prominently on this new website.

We are looking for photos that say “Shakopee” – whether scenic shots of the City’s unique places and attractions or photographs of residents and visitors enjoying life in the community. The City is particularly interested in summer and fall photos, though we would consider great winter and spring shots, too.

The City is offering $50 for each selected photograph. The City is requesting unlimited (but not exclusive) rights to use the photo(s) on our website, as well as in other City promotional and communication materials, without photo credit. Photographers must sign a release form granting the City permission to use the photo. If there are any identifiable people in a photograph, a release form from them will also need to be obtained.
