Dakotah! Sport and Fitness Turkey Trot 5K Winners Announced
Minneapolis resident Matt McCoy, 38, and Savage resident Heather Himler, 39, were announced as winners of the Dakotah! Sport and Fitness 5K.

Minneapolis resident Matt McCoy, 38, and Savage resident Heather Himler, 39, were announced as winners of the Dakotah! Sport and Fitness 21st Annual Turkey Trot 5K on November 22. A total of 236 runners participated in the 5K, and 18 runners participated in the half-mile Kid’s Fun Run.
With a time of 19:34, McCoy won the men’s division. Eric Heidal, 15, of Shakopee came in second with a time of 20:47, and Connor Laughridge, 14, of Prior Lake finished third with a time of 21:33. Himler won the women’s division with a time of 19:55. Victoria Ranua, 34, of Shakopee finished in second place with a time of 22:36, and Megan Korthour, 21, of Shakopee finished third with a time of 23:20.
The top male and female finishers received a frozen turkey from Mazopiya, and the first, second and third place male and female finishers received awards. Additionally, individual age group winners received trophies. All participants received a t-shirt.

“We had amazing weather for the race and a great runner turnout. We thank all of the volunteers and the golf course staff for all of the support,” said Dakotah! Sport and Fitness Assistant Director Renee Engeman.
The 3.1-mile event started at Dakotah! Sport and Fitness and continued through The Meadows at Mystic Lake, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s golf course.
