Last meeting: Eastview lost to Shakopee 3 sets to 1 in their season opener last year.
What's on the line for Shakopee:
This is a chance for Shakopee to get a huge win early in the season. Eastview was a solid team last year (19-10) and made a run in the class AAA sections. Shakopee would love to build their confidence with an early signature win.
What's on the line for Eastview:
This is a chance for Eastview to get some revenge. Losing to Shakopee last year to start the season left the team with a bitter taste in their mouth. They want to get their season started right and win of Shakopee would do just that.
Players to watch:
With this being an early season match-up for both teams, look for anyone of these players to step up. All of them are bidding for playing time and they know the best way to get it is to prove themselves.
Sabers will win if:
They do what they did last year. Play winning ball on the road (4-3) and keep the excited Lighting crowd out of the game.
Lighting will win if:
They start out hot. They were awesome at home last year (11-1) and they want to make that loss column at home disappear this year. They need to use the crowds energy and excitement to knock off the Sabers.
