ON THE LINE
The Sabers face a loaded field in the Section 2AA Championships Thursday. Chanhassen, Chaska, Delano, Hutchinson, New Prague, Buffalo, Waconia, Marshall, Mankato West, Mankato East, Mound Westonka, Orono,  Shakopee, and Willmar compete. The defending individual champion is two-time state champion Maria Hauger of Shakopee. Chanhassen won the 2010 Section 2AA title with the Sabers finishing second. Shakopee is peaking at the right time as they won the recent Shakopee Invitational as they had four racers in the top six.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Maria (Bug) Hauger - Shakopee
The junior won the recent Shakopee Invitational with a time of 14:12.5. She has been dominant this season and is poised for a third straight state title. Hauger won the Shakopee Invitational by an amazing 59.1 seconds.

Winona Rachel - Shakopee
The junior finished second in the Shakopee Invitational with a time of 15:11.6. She was fourth in the Burnsville Blaze Invitational last month.

Tess Misgen - Shakopee
The seventh grader was fourth in Shakopee Invitational with a time of 15:25.6. She finished eighth in the Burnsville Blaze Invitational last month.

Alli Lynch - Shakopee
The junior finished sixth in Shakopee Invitational with a time of 15:35.8. Lynch was 15th in late September’s Burnsville Blaze Invitational.
