Menopause Center of Minnesota Announces Shared Appointments

New format for patient appointments combines one-on-one consultation with educational group sessions

The Certified Menopause Practitioners from the Menopause Center of Minnesota are now scheduling upcoming shared appointments for the remainder of the year. Shared appointments typically involve 6-8 women sharing a block of 90 minutes with their practitioner. This innovative new healthcare combines one-on-one consultations with a group session. Women will still experience focused, individual services for their needs during menopause and perimenopause, but will gain the opportunity to bond with other women going through a similar experience. Menopause Center staff will facilitate communication by asking questions and encouraging patients to share their personal wisdom and stories.

A typical shared appointment includes a weight and blood pressure check, an individual consultation with a Certified Menopause Practitioner and a group information/ interaction session. Because shared appointments last longer, patients receive more time with their health care provider. They also benefit from the wisdom and experience of their peers with whom they share the appointment time, and form a support network.

“We’re excited to be among the first menopause treatment centers in the country offering shared appointments to our patients,” said Diane Feller, CNM, NCMP. “Not only are we able to continue to provide individualized treatment, but we’re facilitating educational and emotionally supportive relationships that can extend beyond the confines of the office to become a very real, very powerful and positive presence in the lives of our patients.” Ms. Feller added that individual appointments will still be available to patients as an option. Shared appointments will only be available at the St. Paul Menopause Center location.

Many insurance plans cover shared appointments. To find out more about shared appointments at the Menopause Center of Minnesota, visit MenopauseMN.com or call 651-698-0891 to schedule an appointment.
