Openings Still Available for Shakopee Police Citizen Academy
The program will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays, from April 3 through May 8.

The still has openings for its Citizen Academy program, which will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays, from April 3 through May 8.
It's open to all Shakopee residents and business owners who wish to experience and learn about the many facets of law enforcement. The course is designed with a “hands-on” approach, whereby lecture is kept to a minimum. Some of the topics to be covered include:
- Critical incident scenarios (shoot/no shoot)
- High-risk traffic stops
- Role play in domestic violence scenarios
- Vehicle crash scene investigation
- DWI enforcement -- interactive controlled drinking and testing session
