Overnight Closures on Hwy. 169 and I-494

The lane and ramp closures will take place over the nights of Sept. 8, 9, and 10.

Be on the lookout for ramp and lane closures this weekend and Monday.

On Saturday, the loop ramp from northbound Highway 169 to westbound Interstate 494 will close at 8 p.m., according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The ramp will reopen by 8 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Travelers should also watch for closed lanes on both directions of I-494 this weekend and on Monday.

On Saturday and Sunday the lane closures will take place on I-494 between Praire Center Drive and Highway 100. On Monday, the affected area of I-494 will be between Prairie Center Drive and East Bush Lake Road. Lanes reopen each morning.

The closures come as crews continue to paint the flyover ramp.

MnDOT released the following schedule of overnight closures:

Saturday, Sept. 8

  • The loop ramp from northbound Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will close at 8 p.m. (access to westbound I-494 will be available via Hwy 212) and reopen by 8 a.m. Sept. 9. 
  • At 6 p.m. lane closures on both directions of I-494 between Prairie Center Drive and Hwy 100 will begin, and at 10 p.m. westbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. Sept. 9.

Sunday, Sept. 9

  • At 6 p.m. lane closures on both directions of I-494 between Prairie Center Drive and Hwy 100 will begin, and at 10 p.m. westbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Sept. 10.

Monday, Sept. 10

  • At 7 p.m. lane closures on both directions of I-494 between Prairie Center Drive and East Bush Lake Road will begin, and at 10 p.m. another lane of eastbound I-494 will close. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Sept. 11.
