Sabers Volleyball 'Diggin' Pink' for Cancer Awareness

The event includes a silent auction with proceeds going to the St. Francis Cancer Center. It will take place today, starting at 5:30 p.m.

When the Shakopee High School volleyball team warms up for their home game this afternoon they will do so in black and pink t-shirts for the fourth annual Diggin' Pink Night—a cancer awareness event.

The Shakopee Volleyball Booster Club is hosting a silent auction from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the high school. The 'Diggin Pink' t-shirt sale has ended.

"Interest in t-shirts has built over the years," said Sarah Koehn from the Shakopee Volleyball Booster Club. "This year’s sales was significantly more than previous which is very exciting."

Proceeds from the silent auction and t-shirt sales go to the Cancer Center at St. Francis Regional Medical Center. St. Francis will have a table during the event with information about the center.

In the past, the booster club has presented St. Francis with donations of $500 to $1,000.
