School Board to Tackle Attendance Boundaries for Two Jr. High Schools

Proposed dates for public comment on attendance areas for two jr. high schools – Jan. 25, 30 and Feb. 2, 8.

Among the other issues on their agenda Monday, Jan. 23,  members are expected to discuss attendance areas and walking distances for junior high students. The plan, if you haven't heard, is to transition from a middle school (with sixth- and seventh-graders) and one junior high school (with seventh-and eighth-graders) to one sixth grade center and two junior high schools with grades 7-9.

School Board members will also talk student walking distances for the new sixth grade center. Their discussion will be based on recommendations from the Board's Facilities Planning Committee.

They could also approve dates and times for the public to give their input. Tentative dates include:

*Additional information: Informational presentations regarding the Jr. High Attendance Areas will also be made at the two Jr. High Registration Nights: February 16 & 23, 6-8 p.m. in the Auditorium.
