Scott County Historical Society Awarded SMSC Community Grant

The $50,000 grant will help fund the Society's exhibit space redesign project.

The Scott County Historical Society (SCHS) has received a $50,000 grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC).

The grant will help fund the Society's exhibit space redesign project. Board members and staff also discussed ways to use the grant that would have long-term impacts on program delivery and exhibits, according to a news release from the SCHS.

"Changes include creating new exhibit, archival and storage space, redesigning the museum story entry and much more. The Society is grateful for this generous grant and looks forward to working with the SMSC to preserve and share the history and cultural heritage of Scott County."

The SMSC has given a number of grants recently, including to the CAP Agency and Shakopee.
