Shakopee Board Of Adjustment And Appeals Schedules Two Public Hearings On June 4

The proposed changes would amend two sections of existing city code and add an new zoning district for parks and open space.

Two public hearings have been scheduled for the June 4 Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and Appeals meeting. Hearings will be held to consider:

  • A preliminary plat of Powers Second Addition and an amendment of Planned Unit Development District No. 2 for property at the northeast corner of Marystown Road and 17th Avenue. Trident Development LLC. is proposing a mixed-use development consisting of a Veterans Administration clinic, a 138-unit apartment complex and a 16,000-square foot medical/retail building at 12321 Marystown Road and 1601 Lusitano St. The first phase of this development for the V.A. Clinic was approved in December 2019. Since that time, the developer has secured projects for the other two lots and incorporated land from Shakopee Public Schools that will be utilized for storm water detention and open space/dog park.
  • Text amendments to the city zoning code 151.002 and 151.007 and adding chapter 151.052. The proposed changes would amend two sections of existing city code and add an new zoning district for parks and open space.
