Shakopee Chamber Donates 271 Pounds of Food to CAP Agency

The CAP Agency is located in Shakopee and has many services to help those in need in the local community.

(The following is a news release from the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce.)

The Shakopee Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau has donated $1,100.00 and more than 270 pounds of food during its 2012 Holiday Food Drive. The Chamber’s Holiday Food Drive donations support the CAP Agency, a community action partnership of Scott, Carver and Dakota counties and Shakopee Chamber member.

“The Chamber has a unique opportunity to play an integral part in bringing the community together to help local businesses thrive. Helping the people in our community who needed an extra hand this Holiday season is an obligation and a privilege we all share,” explained Angie Whitcomb, President of the Shakopee Chamber & Visitor’s Bureau.

“Through this food drive, we were able to support one of our Chamber members, CAP Agency, in meeting their goal of helping to feed the local community while also giving our members and the local community a chance to participate,” she said.

The Chamber Annual Food Drive received donations from both Chamber members and the community. The Chamber also accepted food donations at its 2012 Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 30, which kicked off the start of the food drive. The CAP Agency is located in Shakopee and has many services to help those in need in the local community.
