Shakopee Chamber To Host FREE Public Policy Series

The Shakopee Chamber of Commerce is launching a free public policy  series to give the community, Chamber members and local business owners an arena to bring forth and discuss timely issues that are relevant to the community. Shakopee School Superintendent Dr. Rod Thompson will be the speaker at the first meeting on October 8, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in the Shakopee Police Department Training Room.  Dr. Thompson will be discussing the $89 million bond referendum, which will be on the ballot in March of 2014, with $78 million going toward the building of a new high school.

“Along with interested citizens, city and county officials will be invited to these meetings. We want to give community members, business leaders, and Chamber members the opportunity to hear about these topics first hand, and to have a voice on local issues,” explained Angie Whitcomb, President of the Shakopee Chamber & Visitor’s Bureau.
