The city's annual pavement maintenance project, crack sealing, will begin this week.

Crack sealing blows out cracks in city streets and fills with rubber. The material is then covered with biodegradable toilet paper. The process is intended to extend the life of pavement.

Crack sealing can be a messy operation. The contractor should have posted yellow no parking signs to indicate work areas. Please move your vehicle off the street and away from the end of your driveway due to blown rock and debris. It is OK to drive over the paper.

Crack sealing operations are expected to continue through the week.
