Shakopee Indians Take 1-0 Series Lead Over Jordan

The Shakopee Indians baseball team opened up its with a 7-5 win over Jordan in the Section 3B playoffs on Friday.

Brewers at Joe Schleper Stadium. Game 2 is set for Sunday at 6 p.m. in Jordan.

The Indians fell behind 3-0 after Jordan notched three runs in the top of the fourth inning. But Shakopee came right back, scoring four runs in the fourth and adding three runs in the sixth to take a 7-3 lead. 

Jordan mounted a comeback in the ninth, scoring twice and cutting the lead to 7-5. But Indians pitcher Chris Rupert closed the door and helped Shakopee pick up the win.

Rupert pitched all nine innings to pick up the win. He struck out nine and allowed three earned runs in the gam.e

Aaron Olson led the way at the plate. Olson went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in the game.

Shakopee improved its overall record to 18-16.
