Last Meeting: Shakopee won at home last year by a score of 2-1.

On the line for the Sabers:

This is a chance for Shakopee to get back on the winning side of things. This could also prove to be a huge confidence boost beating a team in their section on the road.

On the line for the Skippers:

This is a chance for Minnetonka to get their record at .500. The last thing they want to do is dig an early hole that will be hard to get out of.

Players to watch:

Mario Pena – Sabers

Pena is leading the team in both assists (1) and goals (1) early on in the year. Being the senior leader of the team, the Sabers will be looking for him to continue his strong play.

Marcus Speca – Skippers

Speca is a senior leader on the Skippers. He is currently leading the team in both assists (1) and goals (1). Look for him to try and stretch the field and put his teammates in a good position to succeed.

Sabers win if...

They play hard and don’t get overly excited. Playing on the road is always tough and this will be no exception. They need to relay on their senior leaders and their coaches to come out with a win.

Skippers win if...

They use their strengths which is speed and experience. They should attack the net all night and ware down the Saber defenders. They can’t relay on the comforts of home to be the only thing that gets them the win.
