Shakopee's Hauger Wins Third Straight Title

Shakopee junior Maria Hauger’s goal is to be a four-time state cross country champion. She is three-fourths of the way there.

Hauger won her third straight individual Class AA title on Saturday, finishing the 4-kilometer race in 14:04.1. She finished 0.7 seconds ahead of Jamie Piepenburg of Alexandria, who crossed the finish line in 14:04.8.

The Shakopee girls team placed fourth overall with 168 points. Monticello won the state title with 93 points, Lakeville North took second at 118 points and Wayzata took third at 140 points.
