Shakopee Schools Open Their Doors

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Jackson Elementary is just one of the open houses the district will host.

Beginning Wednesday, students and their families can visit their classrooms in preparation for the start of the school year.

Shakopee’s newest school, Jackson Elementary, will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 31. Staff will serve light refreshments. 

Open houses are as follows:

  • 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 25

  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 24

  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 

  • Kindergarten: 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 30 
  • Grades 1-5:  4 to 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 31. 

Jackson Elementary

  • 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m.

  • Kindergarten: 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 30
  • Grades 1-5: 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 31

  • Kindergarten: 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 
  • Grades 1-5: 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 30

Sweeny Elementary

  • Kindergarten (AM students): 4 p.m. on Aug. 30
  • Kindergarten (PM students) 5:30 p.m. on Aug 30
  • Grades 1–5: 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 31
