Shakopee Students Spend February With Their Noses in Books
Each class at Shakopee's Eagle Creek Elementary read for thousands of minutes during "I Love to Read Month."
Students at read, and read, and read even more, during the "I Love to Read Month" competition in February.
Each grade had a number of reading minutes goal to achieve and in total students read for 418,882 minutes.
The class winners were:
1st grade - Ms. Driver's class = 30,657 minutes
2nd grade - Ms. Masters' class = 21,709 minutes
3rd grade - Mrs. Kudrle's class = 23,727 minutes
4th grade - Mr. Weiner's class = 34,990 minutes
5th grade - Mrs. Nordtvedt's class = 19,062 minutes
Each winning class will have an ice cream party and all the students received popsicles on March 2.
