Shakopee Tribe to Give City $250K for Extra Police Service
The agreement is seen as a thawing in relations between the two groups.

The City of Shakopee and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community have reached an agreement in which the tribe will give the city $250,000 in exchange for beefed up police service, the Star Tribune reported Saturday.
The tribe and city have never had a cost-sharing agreement for services the law requires the city to provide, which has created friction between the two groups.
City officials see this as a reversal of that pattern.
