Take a trip to Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield to see beautiful birds and marvelous mud

I try to spend all of my time in Shakopee.  Leaving Shakopee is outside of my comfort zone, but pushing boundaries is sometimes needed in order to grow.  I met a friend at Pizza Luce in Richfield.  The pizza was great, but the nature center across the street was even better.
Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield has a variety of programs and events throughout the year for people of any age.  I've made three trips there.  My favorite group activities are helping pull buckthorn from the lake, and learning about worms, bees, spiders, butterflies, beetles, and more.
The Interpretive Center is open until 5:00 pm each day.  A staff naturalist spent a generous amount of time explaining the characteristic of great gray owls, barred owls, and great horned owls.  What a wonderful place, sometimes a leap of faith brings great rewards.
