Three Public Hearings Scheduled For May 21 In Shakopee City

Three public hearings are scheduled for the May 21 Planning Commission meeting. Hearings will be held to consider:

- A planned unit development and preliminary plat of Summerland Place. Summergate Development is proposing a mixed-use development on 117 acres north of 17th Avenue, east of Balinese Street, south of Highway 169 and west of Mystic Lake Boulevard. The development includes 68 townhouses, 104 villa and 116 single-family residences and 300 apartment units in three buildings.
- A preliminary plat of Windermere South Third Addition. D.R. Horton, Inc. - Minnesota plans to create 33 single-family residential lots and a lot for the existing Friendship Church on 36 acres north of County Highway 78, west of Marystown Road and south of Astoria Drive (128th Street).
- Annexation of 88 acres located at the southwest corner of County Highway 78 and County Highway 79 and rezoning the parcel as Rural Residential (RR) District. The Shakopee School District requested annexation of the property located in Jackson Township. It is currently used as an athletic field complex.
It is anticipated that some or all of the members of the Planning Commission will participate in the May 21, 2020, meeting by telephone rather than by being personally present at the City Hall council chambers, 485 Goman St., Shakopee. The public can monitor the meeting, which starts at 7 p.m., live on Shakopee Government TV or www.ShakopeeMN.gov/livestream.
Public comments may be made online in advance at www.shakopeemn.gov/government/mayor-city-council/agendas-minutes/public-comment or contact the case manager listed with each project. The public will be allowed to attend the meeting in person, practicing social distancing and health safety. You will be able to make your comment in person and answer any questions of the commission and then leave the building.
