Two Shakopee Lacrosse Players Sign Letters of Intent

The players signed letters of intent to play at NCAA Division II colleges at a ceremony at Shakopee High School.

Two Shakopee Lacrosse players signed letters of intent to play at NCAA Division II colleges this fall: Colton Clarke, senior captain of the boys varsity team, for Lake Erie College in Ohio; and Chelsea Behnke for Urbana University in Ohio.

The two players play on Shakopee Lacrosse Club teams.

“This is a very exciting day for the players and the Association,” wrote Jennifer Clarke, Shakopee Lacrosse president, “for having two dedicated players work so hard and be able to be recognized by a Division II school.”

A signing ceremony was held for the two players at Tuesday afternoon. Colton and Behnke thanked their parents, teachers, and teammates before signing letters of intent.

Clarke said that he is excited for the opportunity to continue to play the sport he loves. While he admitted to feeling nervous about traveling so far from home, he appreciated the support he has received from family, friends, and coaches.
