When Valleyfair Amusement Park first opened, several rides came from the now closed Excelsior Amusement Park. One of those rides is still entertaining guests 37 years later and it is located right near the entrance to the park. The carousel at Valleyfair was originally installed at Excelsior Park in 1925 and was carved by the craftsmen at Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Not only is this company's name located on top of the doors that lead into the carousel's mechanism, but at least one of the horses has a "PTC" shield on it. Look for the PTC shield the next time you're at Valleyfair.
