Volleyball Takes Down Minnetonka

Sabers win in 4 games in closely contested match

The Shakopee volleyball team took on Minnetonka Monday evening at home. In a tightly contested match, the Sabers won 3-1 with the game scores being 25-17, 22-25, 26-24 and 25-22.

Before the match, the team also held their annual silent auction in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with all the proceeds going to St. Francis Cancer Center. Both students and players wore pink clothing in observance of the month as well.

In the match, the Sabers and the Skippers were always close in points. Shakopee was able to make a few runs at the end of the first, third and fourth games to close out the match.

The Sabers improved to a 16-2 record and will next travel to the Academy of Holy Angels (7-11) for a match on Thursday.
