Winter Parking Rules Take Effect Friday
There is no parking on most city streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Drivers beware: Shakopee’s winter parking regulations take effect Friday.
From Nov. 1 until March 31, there is no parking on most city streets from 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. The ban applies regardless of the day of the week and whether there is any snow on the ground.
The lone exception is the area north of 10th Avenue and west of Marschall Road, where odd and even parking rules apply. On even-numbered days, parking is allowed on the even-numbered side of the street. On odd-numbered days, parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street during those times.

The city will also declare a snow emergency after a snowfall of two or more inches. During snow emergencies, parking restrictions are in effect 24 hours a day until plows have cleared the roads curb to curb. In addition, there is no parking on snow routes during a snow emergency.
Vehicles that aren’t moved may be tagged and towed at the owner’s expense.
