Women's Event- Connecting Women in Business

Join the Shakopee Chamber and Visitors Bureau for our 4th Annual Women's Event and Luncheon which includes presentations and activities all focused on helping connect women in business! Learn ways to successfully grow & develop in your career & network with others. New this year, we'll be offering breakout sessions on Social Networking, Email Marketing, Time Management and Organization. Teresa Thomas, Director of Women in Networking will be hosting a networking activity as well.

This year's speakers are powerful women who will share their stories of success, offer tips on becoming successful leaders and give insight to how they manage it all. Read more about them below!

This event will also feature a marketplace filled with products & services to enrich your professional & personal lives.

Tickets to this event are $25 per person or 2 tickets for $40! Bring a friend or coworker and save $10.  Your ticket includes lunch, presentations, swag bag (while supplies last) and a chance to win fabulous door prizes to conclude the event.  You do not need to be a Chamber Member to attend this event!

Mary Brainerd, President & CEO of HealthPartners
Mary Brainerd is president and chief executive officer for MN-based HealthPartners, the largest, consumer-governed, nonprofit health care organization in the nation. Under her leadership and direction, HealthPartners has experienced record growth and is often recognized as a national leader in the health care industry.

In her role, Brainerd leads more than 22,000 employees in the HealthPartners integrated system. Brainerd has been with HealthPartners since 1992. Since that time, the organization has received numerous accolades for outstanding patient care, health plan service and its charitable community work. In addition, Brainerd is often cited for her strong business acumen and unwavering commitment to the community. Honors include Top 75 Most Influential People in the Twin Cities by Minnesota Monthly (2013), induction into the Twin Cities Business Hall of Fame (2011), Executive of the Year from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal and much more.Prior to joining HealthPartners, Brainerd held senior level positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, including senior vice president and chief marketing officer. She was also senior vice president and chief executive officer of Blue Plus. he holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas, and a bachelor-of-arts degree from the University of Minnesota. Brainerd grew up in St. Paul and has been actively involved in the Twin Cities community for several years.

Teresa Thomas, Director of Women in Networking
As the director of MN Women In Networking (WIN), Teresa Thomas shares her passion for connecting people and possibilities through networking events, facilitated workshops, speaking and writing.

Teresa has been a professional “Connector” for over 18 years. In 2007, Teresa took on the leadership of WIN to provide welcoming, educational networking events for authentic, motivated women in business to lift each other up for success. While she loves that her profession is to network, she is shy at heart. She enjoys sharing the tools she has learned throughout her life to help others to effectively network with confidence.

Teresa believes networking is really about seeing our interconnectedness and finding the ways we can lift each other up.

Kristen Brown with The Happy Hour Effect
Kristen Brown is a Speaker, Best Selling Author, Business & Book Strategist, Certified Coach and Widow Mom who helps people spin stress into success with her Happy Hour Effect philosophy. She is the author of two bestsellers, The Best Worst Thing and the Happy Hour Effect with two more books and a screenplay forthcoming.
