Yard Waste Dumpster Available For Shakopee Residents

All yard waste must be deposited into the dumpster. Please do not set yard waste outside the dumpster on the pavement.

April 10, 2020

Republic Services’ yard waste season was scheduled to start April 13. However, Republic has suspended its yard waste service nationwide to focus on essential garbage and recycling collection.

With the delay of yard waste season, Shakopee residents are invited to drop off yard waste free of charge in a yard waste-only dumpster at 500 Gorman St., across from City Hall. The dumpster will be available beginning Monday, April 13 – the scheduled start of yard waste season.

The self-serve dumpster is available for yard waste only, including leaves, sticks and other lawn/garden debris normally collected by Republic Services’ curbside service. All yard waste must be deposited into the dumpster. Please do not set yard waste outside the dumpster on the pavement. The dumpster will be emptied regularly, so if the yard waste dumpster is full, we ask that you come back again.

Only yard waste should be deposited in the dumpster. If contaminated with non-yard waste, we may have to remove the dumpster. The drop-off dumpster will be available until Republic resumes yard waste collection.
