Preliminary information indicates the gunfire took place on the block and the man ran into the backyard after being shot, police said.

Forensic scientists from the MPD Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Meanwhile, homicide investigators spoke to individuals who were in the area at the time of the shooting and gathered evidence from surveillance video, according to police.

The police have not released the name of the victim.

At 9:30 p.m. Saturday, officers from the 4th Precinct responded to multiple ShotSpotter reports in the 700 block of West Broadway, where they found an adult male with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

MPD, Minneapolis Fire Department and EMS workers provided life-saving measures before the victim was transferred to a local hospital, authorities said.

Police said that preliminary information indicates that a potential suspect fled in a vehicle immediately after the shots were fired.

Forensic scientists were at the scene and investigators spoke with potential witnesses and reviewed surveillance video.

At 1:48 p.m. Sunday, officers reported a fight outside a business at 528 Hennepin Ave. Soon, gunfire rang out, according to police reports.

Officers from the 1st Precinct and Minneapolis Bicycle Rapid Response Team (BBRT) responded to the scene. Later, officers from the 2nd Precinct, 3rd Precinct and 4th Precinct also responded, police said.

According to the police, officers located an adult male with apparent non-life-threatening wounds.

A suspect was located and arrested and a gun was recovered nearby, police said. A second gun also was recovered near the scene, according to police.

At the scene, some officers provided medical aid to the victim — who was transported to the hospital —while others were forced to manage a large, unruly crowd "which complicated patient care and crime scene management," the MPD said.

Forensic scientists from the MPD processed the scene and collected evidence.

A fourth shooting incident this past weekend took place at 2:20 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of 3rd Street N. and 1st Avenue N.

According to police reports, officers from the 1st Precinct and 2nd Precinct, BBRT and other units responded after officers heard gunshots near the intersection.

At the scene, officers located an adult female with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police. The officers provided medical care and the victim was transported to the hospital.

The MPD said officers located and arrested an adult female suspect in connection with the incident, and a gun was recovered nearby.

While officers were managing the shooting scene, two adult males with apparent non-life-threatening gunshots wounds —relating to the same incident —arrived at the hospital in private vehicles, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the MPD.
