1 Killed, Fire Breaks Out After Car Hits Metro Transit Station
The new Metro Transit bus station on Interstate 35W was set to open Monday.

MINNEAPOLIS — One person was killed Saturday night when a car crashed into the new Metro Transit bus station on Interstate 35W at Lake Street.
At about 7:41 p.m., a Toyota Camry was traveling north on I-35W when it exited the freeway toward the station, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
A witness told the Star Tribune that the car entered a bus-only exit and struck the station. Both the car and the station went up in flames.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
The bus station was set to open Monday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the station has been delayed.
